The voltage in the UK is 240V US voltage is 120V.

So if it has a power adapter (laptops ect) check the bottom of the addapeter and there should be a sticker on ther saying the exact range of voltage that it can take.

If it doesn't have and addapter and is a motor (like a electric razor) you can expect it to let the magic white smoke out....

The razor is a bad example tho because most hotels/hostels have a switch in the bathroom where you can change one plug (only that plug tho) from 230v to 115V which works just fine for the razors you still need a converter plug to plug into the socket tho.

Hope that helps

Dan

The voltage in the UK is 240V US voltage is 120V.

So if it has a power adapter (laptops ect) check the bottom of the addapeter and there should be a sticker on ther saying the exact range of voltage that it can take.

If it doesn’t have and addapter and is a motor (like a electric razor) you can expect it to let the magic white smoke out….

The razor is a bad example tho because most hotels/hostels have a switch in the bathroom where you can change one plug (only that plug tho) from 230v to 115V which works just fine for the razors you still need a converter plug to plug into the socket tho.

As someone moving to London in a few months it was great reading your post.

Im an Aussie but not your typical white one (portugese/south african background). So im very curious to see how racism plays out. Ive heard a lot of stories that like Australia its there but just unspoken. It makes you wonder if its just a lack of empathy/tolerance on the part of our generation or if its inately human nature.

That doesn't just happen there. I found a deal on a digital camera at a store in the US, and when I paid for it they sent me to a waiting area where someone was supposed to bring it out to me. They even called to make sure they had one. After half an hour of waiting (and while a few of the people who had come in later than me were being served and leaving) someone walked out and told me that the cameras were out of stock. So I went back to the electronics desk, where it took them 10 minutes to figure out how to put $200 back in my account (I used debit), and then I had to buy another camera and spend another 30 minutes while someone searched for it. Thankfully they had one left, but they had only one.

Australians have a lot to be proud of in their team. As ever the Ozzies have the right attitude, sport means everything to you, and you 'give it your best' and 'never say die'. Cliches I know but England only seem to play like this when the chips really are down. Best of luck in 4 years time, I think you could go a lot further. You've got the mentality.
