The cheapest way to see London is on foot. From Big Ben to the Tower, most of London's major tourist attractions are within walking distance of each other.
This section includes information and maps for various free self-guided walking tours, which each cover a different part of London. Simply choose the area you want to explore, print the walk and go London sightseeing for free.
Things change in London just as often as they do in other places. Although
many of the landmarks highlighted in these walks are hopefully going to
be there for years to come, others may not be. Also, prices I have
quoted are sadly bound to have risen over time.
I therefore try to occasionally check the walks and the prices of things and update the information provided. However, if you come across something I have mentioned on a walk or
a price I have quoted that needs to be changed, I would be grateful if
you could let me know.
The walks are deliberately not meant to be overly detailed as I don't want to overload you with information. After all, you are probably on holiday! Instead, they are intended to point out the key landmarks and provide you with just enough information to make the walks interesting.
I've tried to show the locations of landmarks as accurately as possible on the google maps but for some places, the co-ordinates might not be precise. Please just use the maps as a guide.
London is a big city. As such, it has the usual problems such as street crimes and muggings. Although all walks take you through areas of London that are usually safe and generally busy with people, please do them in daylight hours. Besides, you get to see more of the sights that way!
