London, the capital city of England, is the destination for millions of people throughout the year for a number of different reasons. The rest of the competitors are professional runners who are out to win and to beat their personal bests. The renewal of the races are set to take place from the 16th of March to the 30th of March 2019 over the course of two weekends when hundreds of crews will come together in order to compete.
Just like the London Marathon, the Head of the River Race is also a great day out for spectator’s too. They are always seen lining the banks of the Thames with their picnics and drinks enjoying the action, while others choose to view from one of the pubs along the race route.
RideLondon FreeCycle
How does a free cycling event sound that lets you take in some of the most famous landmarks in the world? Well, that’s precisely what RideLondon does. It’s an even where families and friends can come together in a traffic free central London and enjoy a bike ride which will take them past the likes of Buckingham Palace, the Houses of Parliament and St Paul’s Cathedral. There were over 70,000 to take part last year and more are expected this time round on the 28th of July.
This is a sporting event that anyone can take part in, regardless of their age or ability, making it one of the capital’s most popular. There are also some great festival zones to explore throughout the day with plenty of entertainment on hand too. You can’t ask for much more, especially for free.
