While we know London as a city full of iconic architecture, the natural surroundings are often just as beautiful. And while we may consider the Thames ‘a dirty old river’, there are some fantastic walks along it, as well as many other waterways that dissect the city.

These walks offer the perfect escape from the big city, allowing you to forget that the country’s business is ran from across the water, or that there are thousands of people stressed up to the eyeballs in high-intensity jobs in the offices that overlook you.

In fact, you may often be one of those people. More and more people are suffering in this way, after all. A stroll along the river can always do the world of good. Many professionals in the likes of private rehab centres, who deal with stress and addiction on a daily basis believe that fresh air and exercise has the power to do the world of good, and can aid in stress, addiction and depression.

Of course, on the other hand, you might just want to escape for a walk, see the sights from a different angle, and just enjoy a bit of peace amongst the chaos. And with spring approaching, what better time to do it.

So, without further ado, here are the five finest river, or at least waterside, walks in London to have a stroll along…
